Privacy Policy

Cairns Tourism (cairnstourism.com.au) is an independent, locally run travel guide. This policy explains what information we collect and how we handle it, in plain English, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

Analytics: we use standard analytics tools (such as Jetpack Stats and Google Analytics via Site Kit) to understand which pages are read and how visitors find us. This data is aggregated and doesn’t identify you personally.

Forms: if you contact us or submit a story, we receive what you send (typically your name, email and message). We use it only to respond, verify and, with your permission, credit you. We don’t add you to any list without asking, and we never sell or share your details.

Cookies and third parties

Our analytics tools set cookies to count visits. When you click a booking link to a partner such as Viator, that partner may set its own cookies to track the referral; their privacy policies govern what happens on their sites. We don’t see your payment details or booking information, ever.

Some links on this site earn us a commission when you book, at no extra cost to you. These are marked near the links themselves, and our About page explains the model in full.

Your rights and contact

You can ask us what information we hold about you (usually: an email you sent us), ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us via the contact form and we’ll sort it out promptly.

Before you rely on this: we check every fact against primary sources before publishing and date what we write, but things on the ground change, sometimes the same day. Confirm opening hours, prices, closures and conditions with the operator or authority directly, and always follow official signage and safety advice. We publish in good faith but cannot accept liability for errors, omissions or changes after publication. Full terms are in our disclaimer.
